Mikey Garcia v Juan Carlos Burgos boxing preview

Current WBO Super Featherweight world champion Mikey Garcia (33-0-28KO’s) will be defending his title against Juan Carlos Burgos(30-1-2-20KO’s) on January 25th at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. The bout will be televised live on HBO.Mikey Garcia is currently one of the sports brightest and accomplished young stars. As most fans already know, he is from a boxing family and is very well schooled in the art of the sweet science. He has very good technique, punching power and most importantly a high boxing IQ. Although Garcia has one of the highest knockout percentages in the sport, he is a very patient fighter and studies his opponents very well.On the other hand Juan Carlos Burgos is a tuff Mexican fighter with only one loss. However, he hasn’t had the most impressive year having fought to a draw in his last two fights. The last fighter he fought was a fighter with 4 losses coming off a long layoff. That is certainly not a good look for the 25 year old Mexican fighter, especially considering the fact that he’s going to be fighting one of the best young fighters in the sport.Although I do not believe this fight will be competitive, I think it will be a fun fight to watch considering the styles of both fighters. In my humble opinion, Garcia is a true gem in the sport of boxing and I enjoy watching his development and progression as a fighter.
